Whether you are taking your first steps in learning to sing, working towards external exams or auditions, or are an experienced singer needing a vocal “health check”, I have a proven track record in delivering high quality teaching in a safe and supportive environment.  I have had students appear on National Television, and many have gone on to careers in singing.

Having said that, many people learn to sing for the sheer joy of the experience, to take up a new hobby or resume singing as an adult.  Whatever your motivation, with 25 years’ as a singing teacher, I bring a knowledge of how the voice works and experience of teaching singers of all ages and voice types, individually and in groups, from beginners to professionals.

Individual Vocal Tuition

Qualifications

In addition to 25 years teaching experience, my qualifications include singing and teaching diplomas from Trinity College, and I have undertaken ongoing professional training, including Estill Voice training (level 1&2), Fundamentals of the Singing Voice, Teacher training residential (Association of Teachers of Singing) and numerous vocal workshops.

My Approach

Whilst my teaching is grounded in an understanding of vocal anatomy and function (how the voice works), I encourage every singer to be curious rather than judgmental as they explore and develop their voice. My ethos is one of partnership between teacher and singer (or parent).  As with any skill, regular practice is between lessons is key in order to make meaningful progress.

Whilst I am passionate about technical rigour and excellent results, I never lose sight of the sheer joy of singing and performance:  It’s at the heart of everything I do.

Jenny taught my daughter singing for 6 years. Bella absolutely loved her lessons and studied both classical and Musical Theatre styles. She didn’t just learn to sing, but also vocal health and techniques.
Bella passed ABRSM Grade 8 Singing (Musical Theatre) with a distinction thanks to Jenny. She also was instrumental in helping Bella get through auditions for Drama Schools. Jenny has been a wonderful, professional, compassionate, knowledgeable, and inspirational teacher. We have been so lucky to have her as a mentor.”

(Rachel, Parent)

“I have been taught by Jenny for over 10 years, her passion for teaching music is one of the main reasons that I went on to study music at university. Jenny is a professional whose wisdom and knowledge of the voice definitely helped me become a more confident performer.”
(Alice, Singer)
“Jenny has been my singing teacher for many years and I wouldn’t go to anyone else! Her knowledge of the voice is second to none. Any issues I have with my voice, usually within one session, she has pinpointed the problem and found a solution for it. I have been to many other teachers through the years but have always found Jenny to be the best. I really can not recommend her highly enough.
(Debbie, Singer)
