Entry requirements and Commitment

  • Audition:  You will be asked to sing a song of your choice to me, and I will assess your suitability to join the choir.

  • Commitment: Most of our singers love being part of Modality and try to attend every week.  However, I appreciate that people have busy lives and won’t always be able to make every rehearsal.  Putting on performances and building a great team requires a level of commitment and some practice at home.  So you would be expected to attend most rehearsals in the term.

“It’s a wonderful feeling to be a part of such a professional and brilliant choir. Jenny arranges much of the music we perform and it’s always a thrill to be back on a stage again."
(Alice, Soprano)

“You don’t have to be able to read music when you work with Jenny.  Just follow her expert and enthusiastic encouragement and before you know it, you’ll be performing in the front row of the choir and enjoying every moment!”
(Chris, Baritone)
"Modality is not only a great choir to be part of, but also a great community.  With fantastic teaching from Jenny, the choir is constantly learning and growing. If you have an interest in singing and in joining a group filled with an amazing and inspiring range of people, I couldn’t recommend Modality high enough."
(Amy, Alto)

"I was very nervous about joining the choir but I needn’t have been.  From the first rehearsal, people were so kind, inclusive and encouraging, I felt like one of them straight away.  Jenny’s enthusiasm for music and singing is infectious, and she manages to get the best out of everyone.  I have learned so much about technique and breathing.  The best thing I ever did was join Modality – such a lovely way to learn and enjoy".
